News Paskelbta: 2019-10-07

Latest updates from SMK

During September 23-27 SMK University of Applied Social Sciences was welcoming its foreign partners and guests from abroad as a part of International Week. Various activities were organized for guests during their visit both in Vilnius and Kaunas branches. And since this year it’s all about celebrating 25 years anniversary of SMK the program of International Week was built around sharing best practices of our university and inspiring projects we run.

One of the projects presented was PicS digital storytelling project aimed at providing toolkit for youth workers. The picture language based toolkit is meant to prevent conflict scenarios for youth with varied ethnic background. Various tools and exercises were presented by Diana Garlytska, the Head of R&D Division and played with the participants of International Week. This allowed to bring together representatives of HEI from Germany, Poland, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and other countries.

Picture language is universals and so are the emotions. All participants of International Week have been impressed about the effectiveness of the toolkit developed under PicS project. And since Storytelling is an important area of specialization at SMK, we are glad to have demonstrated our storytelling competences to partners and hope we have ignited storytelling spirit in them.
