SMK Director Viktorija Palubinskiene and Head of International Relations and Project office Reda Mikalauskaite attended the DIVERSE European Alliance meeting in Istanbul on 27–28 May: the first meeting since becoming an official alliance. During this occasion, rectors from DIVERSE alliance member universities signed the Memorandum of Understanding, formalizing their shared commitment to cooperation and collaboration in European higher education.

Hosted by Turkish partner, Beykent University, the meeting brought together rectors and presidents from the alliance’s member institutions to present joint strategies and shared solutions for the DIVERSE Alliance future.

During two intensive days various presentations and working sessions were held to review the Alliance’s current status and progress, building on outcomes from prior gatherings and meetings. Representatives of partner institutions spoke about the achievements and key challenges in research, teaching, learning, and mobility, fostering open dialogue and deeper collaboration among 12 universities.

This meeting marked a significant milestone for DIVERSE, reinforcing inter-university collaboration across Europe and promoting the development of joint initiatives that will shape the future of higher education.

The DIVERSE alliance integrates twelve universities from eleven countries. The European Commission has awarded the Excellence Seal to DIVERSE, recognizing the  alliance and its’ members commitment to internationalization. This award creates new opportunities for collaboration in higher education and research. The alliance aims to create a multidisciplinary university campus that currently gathers more than 150.000 students and 15.000 educators and researchers, with the purpose of being a global leader in the science of entrepreneurship.
