Whether you’re thinking about your own academic future or are already part of the SMK family, Anna’s story offers valuable insights into the life-changing opportunities that await here.

What has your experience at SMK been like?
My experience at SMK has been truly enriching. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed into a vibrant, international environment, thanks to the diverse team of lecturers and students from all over the world. This multicultural setting made it easy to immerse myself in a new lifestyle and adapt quickly. I noticed a significant improvement in my English skills, as it became the language of both study and everyday communication. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on group work and presentations — they not only fostered collaboration but also helped us develop practical, real-world skills that go beyond textbooks.

Why did you decide to stay and become a lecturer at SMK?
I’ve always believed in education that is practical, inspiring, and closely connected to real life. Becoming a lecturer allows me to contribute to a learning environment I genuinely believe in. I enjoy designing classes that offer hands-on experiences, encourage creativity, and equip students with the tools they’ll need in their future careers. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students grow, develop their ideas, and gain confidence in their abilities.

Why would you recommend studying at SMK?
The international community here allows students to broaden their worldview and build connections that extend far beyond the classroom. The university places strong emphasis on practical skills and personal development, giving students the foundation to grow both professionally and personally.

What advice would you give to someone considering studying at SMK?
Be open to the experience and willing to step outside your comfort zone. SMK is the perfect place to challenge yourself and explore new perspectives.
